Programs

The Department of Primary Education offers a four-year program leading to a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.

The graduate program leading to the M.A. degree in early childhood education emphasizes both theory and research competence required for educational practice and scientific inquiry in early childhood. The program aims to prepare students for advanced graduate work in the field, while encouraging them to develop a scientific approach in their encounters with children at different levels of teaching, administration, and academic studies. Program comprises a minimum of 24 credits of course work, a non-credit seminar course, and a thesis which consists of four required and five elective courses. Elective courses may be chosen from the courses offered by the Program, the Institute, or the University, subject to the approval of the advisor.
